Presentation Guidelines
Each presentation in a technical session whether one or two speakers will have a total of 20 minutes for the presentation and up to 10 minutes for questions and answers. Consider limiting your presentation to 10 to 20 slides to allow enough time for each slide. Our technical audience is looking for in-depth information on your projects, including challenges faced, lessons learned, and specific innovations incorporated. Sales presentations are prohibited.
Presentations will be given live and in-person in Dallas, October 20 through October 22. This is not a hybrid conference. Remote presentations will not be allowed.
Registration Requirements
All speakers are required to register for and attend the conference during their presentation time.
If you cannot present, you must notify I2SL by Friday, August 8, 2025, and provide a replacement speaker. If you do not notify I2SL and provide a replacement speaker by this deadline, I2SL may not consider you as a speaker for future conferences.
Speaker Benefits
I2SL offers the following benefits to speakers:
-
Discounted registration fee (two discounts available per presentation).
-
Abstract or presentation considered for additional publication or webinar opportunities.
-
Name, abstract, biography, and presentation posted on the I2SL website, with speaker's permission.

Ready to Get Started?
Before filling out your abstract online, you will need the following information related to your presentation:
-
Name, organization, email address, and a speaker biography for you and any co-presenter(s) (350 character limit for each biography)
-
Headshots for you and any co-presenter in JPG or PNG file format
-
Proposed presentation title (short, catchy, and clear what the topic is)
-
Brief presentation abstract (please keep presentation description to 1,500 characters)
-
Four learning objectives that attendees will be able to achieve upon hearing the presentation. Each learning objective must start with a verb that describes a measurable outcome attendees will get from your talk. (Example: learn, understand, identify, analyze, etc.)
-
Five keywords that pertain to your presentation (e.g. fume hoods, ventilation, embodied carbon, mass timber, green labs)
-
Select from a list of pertinent lab sustainability topics
-
Identify the audience with which this presentation most closely aligns (e.g. architects, engineers, facility managers, researchers etc.).
-
If your presentation is a case study of a lab building construction, renovation, or retrofit project, you should enter your building’s energy and utility data into the I2SL Lab Benchmarking Tool to get your free Energy Score and/or Operational Emissions Score; providing these scores as part of your abstract submission will give preference to your presentation.
