Target Your Lab Buildings for Energy Savings: Try the AIM Report Software!

ree

Following two years of development by I2SL’s broad range of technical advisors, the Labs2Zero Actionable Insights and Measures (AIM) Report tool is now live and ready to guide your energy-saving journey! As the first lab-specific software for creating automated energy audits, AIM makes it a snap for lab owners, facility managers, engineers, and consultants to identify and implement energy-saving improvements. The tool allows you to generate a tailored energy savings roadmap based on a lab building’s unique parameters and improvement goals. Most importantly, AIM gives lab building professionals the data they need to make a persuasive business case for undertaking energy upgrades.

Several features set the AIM Report apart from other energy auditing tools:

  • Accessibility to anyone—users don’t have to have extensive building expertise, and the building, equipment, and utility data needed is not complicated.

  • Quick results—no need to build energy models or conduct walk-throughs; the AIM Report software identifies proven lab energy-saving measures with a few clicks.

  • Unbiased analysis—the software makes assumptions based on experts’ industry knowledge and allows users to refine their inputs to get more accurate results.

  • A low-cost approach—subscribers can evaluate a whole portfolio of buildings for a fraction of the cost of just one onsite energy assessment.

  • Extra features—more than just a list of measures, the tool analyzes costs, energy savings, and return on investment for implementing each measure—as well as from bundling various measures—and provides case studies of each measure in action.

It’s easy to get started! Just enter some basic facility and utility data into I2SL’s free Lab Benchmarking Tool (LBT). For building owners, managers, or consultants who already have lab buildings entered in the LBT, AIM is a logical and quick next step to discover where there is potential for improved energy performance. There is even a free demo version to try the tool with a handful of energy measures. For those that are new to the LBT, it’s free to create an account and enter data; just check out this Quick Start Guide to see what building data is needed.

An AIM subscription, which can be used to generate reports on an unlimited number of lab buildings, costs less than a single onsite ASHRAE Level 1 energy audit. And through November 30, all AIM software subscribers will receive an introductory discount of 20 percent; enter the promo code INTRO20 at checkout. I2SL and Sustainable Labs Canada members are eligible for an additional 10 percent discount, and even more savings are available to employees of institutions or corporate lab owners with an I2SL organizational membership.
