Dear I2SL Chapter Officers,

It was great meeting many of you at the 2019 I2SL Annual Conference in Denver! For those of you I didn’t have a chance to meet, I’m Michaela Magnuson—the new I2SL HQ Chapter Coordinator. Please do not hesitate to reach out or contact me with any questions.

It’s hard to believe 2019 is almost over! Thanks for making it a great year for I2SL at the local level with your networking events and educational offerings. With 2020 just around the corner, please read this email for some important end-of-year updates.

Annual Conference

This year’s conference, with over 550 attendees, was one of our largest yet! I2SL HQ would like to thank the Colorado Chapter for helping to make this another fantastic event, especially the conference extension at the University of Colorado (CU) Boulder.

If you missed the Chapter Officers’ Meeting during the conference (or even if you attended), attached are the notes from that meeting, including highlights from each of the chapters in attendance. As Phil mentioned in the Chapter Officers’ Meeting, I2SL is planning on revamping the Go Beyond Awards in time for the 2021 Annual Conference. I2SL HQ is looking for support from chapters developing new criteria and award categories. If you are interested, please contact Phil Wirdzek.

Thank you all for your continued support of I2SL and our Annual Conference! Make sure to save the date for the 2020 I2SL Annual Conference in Chicago, October 4-8. Attached is the 2020 promotional image in case you would like to promote the conference on your individual websites or emails.

Membership and Chapter Officer Records

As 2019 comes to a close, we’ll be checking to see that chapter officers’ I2SL memberships are up-to-date. We’ll also be updating our chapter officer contact lists, so watch for an email in next month that will share your officers’ membership status and request any updates for our roster of officers.

If you are unsure of your membership status, feel free to contact me before these reminders go out. If you know your membership has expired, you can renew online today. And if you work for a government agency, nonprofit, or academic institution, you may want to take advantage of I2SL’s institutional group membership option. It’s a great way to get your entire organization involved!

Finally, let's extend a warm welcome to I2SL’s two newest chapters in St. Louis and India. Be on the lookout for more information regarding the next Chapter Officers Call in January. I look forward to working with you all next year!
