Host a Labs21 Workshop

Are you interested in bringing a Labs21 Workshop to your area?

I2SL has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to coordinate Labs21 Workshops for the 2008 season.

Benefits to hosting a Labs21 course include:

  • Training you and your associates on the Labs21 Approach to sustainable laboratory design
  • Expanding your network of sustainable designers, architects, engineers, owners, and managers
  • Providing an opportunity for registered architects and professional engineers to receive continuing education credits
  • Helping Labs21 and I2SL expand their messages across the country

Host responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Labs21 Workshop coordinator to determine a location and date for the event
  • Securing meeting space, audiovisual equipment, and food and beverages for the workshop
  • Ensuring an ample number of attendees register
  • Providing binders and materials for attendees
  • Securing co-hosts or sponsorship for the event
  • Working with I2SL to determine and settle fees associated with the workshop

I2SL and Labs21 will help in the hosting process by:

  • Providing a workshop coordinator to aid with the set up and planning of the event
  • Securing two qualified instructors to teach the course
  • Providing course materials and supplemental materials, such as Labs21 brochures, fact sheets, and tool kit CDs, for the event
  • Running registration and collecting fees
  • Promoting the event through the Labs21 Network of more than 5,000 industry professionals and on the Labs21 Design Courses Web page
  • Processing follow-up needs, including American Institute of Architect continuing education credits, creating and distributing certificates of completion, and mailing the Labs21 video to those attendees that request them.
